🙂 CoderDojo Suita

Basically, there is no such thing as a curriculum or textbook.
Children who like programming or are interested in programming (ninjas) bring their own ideas and questions. The children will work on their own and get support from adults (mentors) who usually do programming at work.

• Programming sounds fun!
• I want to make a game, but I don't know how to do it and where to start...
• I would like to meet programming friends
• I don't know anyone around me whom I can ask about programming...
• I want to present the games and websites I have created!

If you are a boy or girl who loves programming, please join us!
If you don't have any programming experience but would like to try it, it's okay, please join us.
*First-time participants will be given a basic Scratch lecture upon request. If you are interested in programming, please join us. *

What we can support

• Creating games and animations in Scratch
• Building web applications with Ruby on Rails
• Creating your own creations with Raspberry Pi
• 🆕 Use sensors and light things up with micro:bit!

We may be able to support more than the above. Please contact us for details.

🙂 Conditions for participation

Bring your own laptop.

We will not be able to lend you a computer on the day of the event. Please bring your own laptop.
Please remember to bring a mouse and a power adapter for your laptop.
If you don't have a laptop, you can use a tablet like an iPad.

Target age group

The program is intended for participants between the ages of 7 and 17.

For Mentors.

If you are participating in CoderDojo Suita as a mentor for the first time, please make sure to get confirmation from the organizer.

Mentors must have previous experience at CoderDojo Suita as a mentor.

About accompanying parents

Please make sure to pick up and drop off the children at the venue.
Please note that during the event time, there may not be enough seats available depending on the capacity of the room and children's participation. Please understand that we may ask parents to leave the room.

Cancellation

If circumstances prevent you from attending, please cancel immediately.
We ask for your cooperation so other people from the waiting list can attend.

Venue Size.

The venue will be large enough to accommodate up to 8 ninjas.

What you can use

• Power sockets are available at the venue.
• Wireless LAN is available at the venue.

Access to the venue

5 minutes walk from "Minami Suita Station" of JR West and Osaka Higashi-Line.

The venue is located in a slightly confusing place.
